Happy Birthday to me

Birthdays are always special to me, presents or no presents.. coz its a time to celebrate the many blessings that God has showered upon me !! And also a great time to feast with family and friends 

And to force uncle to bake for his queen..hahaha.. I'm blessed that I have 2 cakes this year.. the kit kat chocolate banana mousse cake.. which my mama misses so much..  

And to top it off, we had a bbq the next day plus an oreo cheesecake with 39 candles..  yup.. 39 candles..my sis and bil couldn't understand why I was so happy with it..coz my bil was already dreading that this is his last Yr in his 20s..lol.. but 39 candles is something worth celebrating for ! It signify 39 yrs of blessings, and love showered, isn't it.. hahaha..  I'm just so glad that William finally bothered to get me 39 candles..coz the mere lighting of it was a huge ma fan already.  And the twins blew it before we could even took a proper picture.. lol  🤣 

I'm just so thankful for the love showered upon me by my family and friends.. friends who bothered to wish me..and those who took effort to arrange a meal together..

I seem to received a lot more 🎁  this yr..lol..gained a few pounds also bcoz of the bday feasting..omg..

Joy gave me this pretty necklace for my bday plus a uniqlo blouse which she says the buying took only 5 mins but the time to enter took half an hr..lol ! Really like the sweet necklace and her love for me..

I need to get back to clean eating next week! Hopefully I succeed!

July - the mth of feasting and celebrations

And so the feasting has started for my bday! With jiamin being the first stop! As always, she has graciously offered to cook lunch for both of us. Home cooked food and having the luxury to chat about anything and everything is what I really appreciate.. hahah.. as times passes, 真的能聊天的朋友真的不多。感恩有你们。

其实这吧年龄了，生日和平日没两样。不求有个浪漫的庆祝，只希望家人都健康，能够每天看着小朋友慢慢地长大就很满足了。

So we went for an early lunch on my actual day before picking up the girls. Managed to try 探鱼 which I've wanted to try for the longest time but never got to doing it. Glad that the food was good.

I cried shortly after this shot. Was overwhelmed with emotions when I saw the surprise tiramisu. It has been a long time since he baked anything for me. This is like a cake he always bake when we were dating and I'm so grateful that we have gone such a long journey together. Praying that we both grow old together, that we be able to witness our girls growth over the years.

Went for HDL. And it wasn't even planned. Happened to pass by and the staff gave us some vouchers to entice us to come..hahaha.. it was their first time and uncle choo and I both agreed that it was definitely more affordable than beauty pot though we both preferred the soup there. The kids had so much fun there that the dinner lasted for 2hrs++ and by the time we reached home it was way past the kids bedtime. Thankful for all the blessings that I have. Thank God.

We also went for movies a few days after my bday coz it was a school holiday. I wanted to watch toy story 4 so grace accompany me coz she isn't a action packed movie person. I'm glad we could split teams.. hahaha..

Mayb I'm old liaoz.. hahaha.. tend to be more emo and thankful.. hahaha.. but yes, a thankful heart for all the blessings and wishes this July. May we all grow old and healthy and happy together. 😘

The month of celebrations

And thus began the start of July- my birthday mth.. and the celebrations have started..

With jm being the first to celebrate for both of us. Like last yr, she offered to cook a sumptuous lunch to treat us. It was really v sweet of her to do that and I always enjoy our times together, gossiping away..hahaha.. thankful for the friendship made with these 2 ladies.. we have gone a long way.. from being single , to married and eventually motherhood..和她们在一起我很舒服。希望她们天天开心，身体健康。

3rd July (actual day)
After my grouses of him being unromantic, I was kinda worried that he would have nothing planned for that day. But he did la.. We watched ocean12 in the morning, or perhaps I should say I watched it coz he was deep asleep for most of it.. Hahaha.  . We had lunch at swensen followed by bowling.. haha..quite eventful...

And I won in the game of bowling! hahaha... we each bowled 4 games in an hr..super exhausting..and i'm glad that the better player (aka me) won! (by a huge margin too..hahahahahaha)

went home to pick the kids and off for dinner before watching another movie... lol.. i know right.. so many movies in a day..lol.. watched mr incredibles coz its a family cartoon..suitable for the 4 of us.. mr choo snored in the show (again), though it was less noticeable this time round coz the noise fr the movie more than covered it..hahaha...

Thankful for them in my life, no matter how difficult the journey may be, I know its all worth it. Becoz you all are with me.

Had a few more lunch celebrations with friends, to which I can't be more thankful for. Grateful that they took the time to do it la... coz like what I always say, i'm not good at keeping friends.

My birthday celebration

My birthday came and pass.. faster than i thought. I've decided to blog abt my special day/special occasions since last year in an attempt to remember it when the yrs passed.

This yr, I told mr choo specifically that I would like to do a bbq for my bday. I've decided Since the result of last yr,that it would b better to b specific rather to leave it to surprises..hahah.. Anyway I also figured that I only see the 🐔 every 12 yrs so it make sense to do what I want. Lol.. but the guests for the bbq, I had a hard time deciding. Do i want to invite a lot of people , or juz specific clicks and chill out or juz my family? In the end I decided to call my family this yr mainly bcoz I don't feel like socialising on my bday..lol.. I know I'm weird but yes I was lazy to wear the social hat, esp on my special day. Was also concerned that if I invited too many people, Mr choo would have difficulties organizing the whole thing given how big our fridge is currently. Lol..

It was nice to have the family come , and though there were hiccups here n there, it was nice.. to juz sit by the pool and chat and gossip .. the kids could swim and eat and repeat that the whole night..

I did have a cake this year! Yeah! Not sure if it was bcoz of the bbq or bcoz of my outburst last yr.. this yr he did something safe! Lol.. chocolate banana mousse cake, with strawberries on top and kit Kat around the circumference. My fav cake. Haha.. the kids nv like this combi but I hardly cared..it was my cake.. hahahah.. only for the queen.

On my actual day, it was mama duties. We brought the kids out since it was the school hols coz it's youth day ! Haha.. Anyway, we visited the national gallery.

Almost the end of the National Gallery tour.. educational and fulfilling. Probably will go there again before it ends..

Everyone enjoyed themselves and it was an eye opener too.. we continued with gardens by the bay but guess we were too ambitious.. the girls were too tired by then and both Vera and Grace had breakdowns at diff times at the end.

Had to cut short the outing and head home. Everyone was tired I guess.. went home for shower before going for swensens for dinner.. simple dinner plus there's the free ice cream if it's yr actual day. Yes, the Choos take all these little things into consideration, in making our dining experience as pleasurable as possible.lol.. cheap thrills for short.

My wish this year is for everyone to be healthy. I know it sounds cliche, but having seen many incidents have made me realise that with only with gd health, are we able to accomplish the dreams we want to achieve. Thankful for all the beautiful moments I have on earth, may God grant me the chance to touch the lives of others while I'm here.

Birthday celebration

I decided to pen how I celebrated my bday this yr.. actually wanted to do it last yr too..but in the end kept dragging it, n finally forgotten abt it.. eventually when my bday came this yr, i couldn't recall what I did for last yr.. so in order to remind myself, I shall pen it every yr.

This yr, the celebration started early coz my bday falls on a Sunday so Mr choo wanted to pre-celebrate with me, as well as a date for us to spend time together.

28.06.16

He brought me to Wheelers Yard for lunch, as I had casually mentioned to him a few weeks ago that it has been some time since we went to that place. As it was too early for the lunch set, he suggested that we wait it out...

See the nice pic.. but deep down I was craving for bak kut teh.. super unromantic wife.. but I managed not to tell him.. lol.. it's not easy, trust me.

We then proceeded to espa at rws for a spa. Didn't take too many pics there since it was v troublesome to take care of the phone while enjoying the nice steam baths..

Went to chomp chomp for hawker food ! Ya, my comfort food..before going home to make the kids zz.. that ends the couple date!

Incidentally my appts flew for this day and Mr choo suggested that we do a proper bday celebration today.. like a date again..coz the place he wanted to bring me for lunch was closed on 28th jun. So I agreed. We went back to sentosa again.. Haha.. to the lunch buffet at W hotel.. nice ambience with nice scenery.. and v quiet place.. well, i think the logical Singaporean won't drive in just to eat ba..since the food wasn't something to wow about.. okie i shall be gratefull that my huby makes the effort to bring the wife to nice places la..much as the wife is trying to be the stingy auntie and trying to make every cent count.

He also got me a present, which I was quite happy with it. Coz it was a practical gift and since the old one is quite worn out. 

After which we headed to vivo for some window shopping before going home to be with the kids.

03.07.16 (Actual Day)

As we needed to go to church today, Mr choo suggested that we do a simple lunch after church before we head home. Celebration this yr would be dinner at home.. yeah!! Honestly, to me , that was great! Coz i really prefer home cooked meals nowadays.. hahaha...and now that I'm older, bday is just another day.. at least to me la..

The kids were especially nice to me too.. haha.. I won't mind having bday everyday if i get to see them in their best behaviour... hahaha..

After dinner, the kids kept asking where's the cake.. actually I, too, am curious.. as I didn't smell any baking smells these few days.. so would there be any cake? 

The creative baker thought he give a surprise to his Queen by making a strawberry strudel this yr.. when I saw him scrambling to complete his "project", tears streamed down.. although I tried to hide it la.. but when the kids started to sing the bday song, I couldn't control and the tears just kept flowing.. the kids were concerned but Mr choo says " mama is too happy, so she cried.." ya right.. as though he knows like tt.. blah blah...

After the kids zz, and I really can't tahan and tahan liaoz, I started crying and man, did I cry v jialat.. asked him why didn't he make or buy a normal cake? Told him I was disappointed that there was no proper cake.. haiz.. honestly, I also dont know what got into me.. the usual me don't usually fuss over such things. But this yr, especially this yr, I really hope to have a cake, with the many candles and everyone celebrating together as a family.. hahaha.. but Mr choo surprised me in a way that I wasn't expecting.. in fact, I cried so hard that he asked if he should get one now.. which I told him there was no need to, since the kids have zz, and even so it would have passed midnight. 

Even when I was telling my colleagues over lunch  the next day, I was kinda emotional still.. haiz.. muz be the hormones.. nevertheless, I'm thankful for them, to be able to relate to them, and be sane.. what an eventful 35!

Despite all the drama, I did see a cake 2 days later..yeah! so happy!

We sang so many times of the birthday song and blow the candle again and again coz the twins insisted that my bday was over and it was theirs! hahahaha.. but it was fun doing it 4 times.. all the girls are happy and the man is happy when his girls are happy.. happy ending!
